Welcome to the 133rd week of My Sexy Saturday.
This week’s theme: My Sexy Carriage
Readers, please visit us at our new Author Central where we’ll be sharing even more from our authors besides Saturday’s snippets. We’d love to have each and every one of you there as we’re starting new things this month with fun and prizes along the way.
This week’s theme is My Sexy Carriage and this can be anything from historical to fantasy. Readers love historical romance it’s true but more and more fantasy romance has historical flairs complete with a sexy carriage. Show us your best romance that has your interpretation of a sexy carriage. We know we’ll love it!
Sexy can be anything, such as romantic moments like walks on the beach, a home cooked meal or even in another galaxy. It could be two lovers here on Earth dreaming about the day where they go on a magical vacation to another planet. Or staying right here at one of those wonderful places we can find in our own world.
From my re-released novel "Rose of Crimson" a prequel to "Bonded by Crimson".
The car engine
purred, idling in front of Kate’s apartment building.
She focused on the warm air pouring from the vents and the dim illumination of
the dashboard lights. The Phantom’s smooth voice filled the silence. Miles had
kept his promise and drove in the slow lane on their way back. He hadn’t as much as blinked at all the cars passing him on the road.
“The opera was
truly amazing and so was the dinner. I’m glad we shared the chef’s sample
platter, but you shouldn’t have ordered that cheese cake.” Kate lowered the
volume of the music, but pressed the up arrow with
the beginning of the next song. “This one’s my favorite. Well, they all are. I
get goose bumps all over when the orchestra joins in with Christine. What would
it be like to stand on the stage at the end of the show and take in the standing ovation?”
“Thrilling, I’m
sure.” He shifted in his seat. “What’s a life without a little cheese cake? Une cuisine céleste has the best
cheese cake in the world. I love that little restaurant. I get to
practice my French there, but our waiter spoke Québécois.”
He licked his lips as if reliving the taste of the smooth desert. “Anyway, I
enjoyed watching you watch the opera. I saw your eyes tear up a couple of
times?”
Oh no, he’d
noticed. It was hard not to let tears spill out. She smiled and shrugged, tapping her chest. “What can I say? The scene where Christine
parts with Phantom got me right here, but what kind of life could he offer her
deep down in the vaults?” Her voice trailed off. Miles couldn’t offer her much
of life either, that had to be the logic behind his
determination to leave her at the end of the story, not just his pinky promise.
“Very admirable
ability when you can let your feelings out.” That tiny devilish smile still
lingered on his lips.
Her heart raced,
taking her on a journey to a sweet intoxication. She
was dying for his kiss. “Is that why you took my hand right at the beginning?”
“Not the only
reason. I guess I’m used to us holding hands.” He gave her hand a soft squeeze.
A whimper
escaped her, his answer leaving her bereft of words. The
soundtrack ended and the world stopped. The anticipation of his lips on hers
hung in the air and pulled her closer to him.
He leaned toward
her. An eloquent silence filled the car while he touched his lips to hers. The
softness of his kiss raced shivers down her spine.
His mouth teased and prodded her to open while wild flames of desire licked her
insides. A deep moan slipped out of him when their tongues met in a ravenous
kiss, his mouth exploring and dominating all at once. Heaviness pressed on her
breasts, and her core ignited. What if he asked to
take this to the bedroom?
He cupped her
face in his hands, broke the kiss, and pressed his forehead to hers. “No, Kate. No. We can’t—I can’t.”
